It is MAHTN's mission to promote awareness and acceptance of the professional practice of Horticultural Therapy through education, communication and networking. To that end, our Annual Awards of excellence allow us to recognize, and serves to underscore, the efforts of those horticultural therapists and HT programs that consistently demonstrate outstanding achievement and success within the field. These individuals and facilities represent the highest standards of excellence in HT practice and serve as enduring models for those of us engaged in or entering the profession. 

AWARDS CATEGORIES

​​​Outstanding Individual Professional Service Award

This is awarded to a member of the MAHTN community in recognition of significant service and contributions to the field of Horticultural Therapy.  This person shall be distinguished by their length of service, distinctive efforts in the education, promotion and development of Horticultural Therapy and making a meaningful contribution to the field, effecting the teaching, philosophy or practice of Horticultural Therapy.

Horticultural Therapy Program Excellence Award

This is awarded to a Horticultural Therapy Program that makes a significant contribution to the advancement of the field through programming, delivery, standards, evaluation process, public relations, and benefits to the community it serves. 

An UPDATED Nomination Form will be posted in late March, 2023. Submit a nomination for the MAHTN 2023 Individual Award of Excellence or Program Award of Excellence.  Please be sure to checkmark which of the two awards you are nominating. Recipients will be announced in October, 2023. You may disregard the reference section.

In your narrative for individual excellence please include the individual's:

• accomplishments in the field of HT, such as HT practice, teaching, BOD positions
• service to advancing the profession, such as presentations and publications 

In your narrative for program excellence please include:

• a description of the program 
• when it was started and 
• how it benefits the community it serves
