MAHTN ANNUAL AWARDS
It is MAHTN's mission to promote awareness and acceptance of the professional practice of Horticultural Therapy through education, communication and networking. To that end, our Annual Awards Program allows us to recognize, and serves to underscore, the efforts of those horticultural therapists and HT programs that consistently demonstrate outstanding achievement and success within the field. These individuals and facilities represent the highest standards of excellence in HT practice and serve as enduring models for those of us engaged in or entering the profession.
Program Excellence Award
This is awarded to a Horticultural Therapy program that makes a significant contribution to the advancement of the field through programming, service, delivery, quality program standards, evaluation process, public relations, and benefits to the community.
2021 Winner -Collie Turner
MAHTN is recognizing Heroic Gardens, founded by Collie Turner, that helps veterans experience the healing power of nature in their recovery.Outstanding Professional Service Award
This is awarded to a member of MAHTN in recognition of significant contributions to the field of Horticultural Therapy. This person shall be distinguished by their length of service, distinctive efforts in the promotion and development of Horticultural Therapy and has made a meaningful contribution to the field, effecting the philosophy or practice of Horticultural Therapy.
2021 Winner - Linda Klug
Linda has been recognized for her commitment to organize and create engaging virtual webinars for HTs in order for all to continue to meet and grow together during the pandemic. She was able to pivot from in person programs to virtual programs when covid hit. She has also developed monthly webinars, a community of practice group & HT activity demos.
